Some lovely discovery about alphabets and stories

I learned this clever animation from :Talking SMARTBoards & Much More! via my google reader. The animation shows how alphabets today were adapted and modified over the centuries. I think it would be a nice teaser for higher grades students.

I also learned a lovely story book ‘My heart is like a zoo’ from Superheroes and princesses. The book uses heart shapes to create various kind of animals and how each animal simulate personalities and characters. Such as steady as a yak, cool as a penguin, crafty as a fox…etc. I love the idea although I still have to think how to embed this into my teaching plus there are quite a few exotic animals that are unknown for Taiwanese children and myself.

Here is the book trailer you can take a look at:-)
