The world is your oyster

I learned a new phrase the other day in the Party of the National Day. The Hungarian gentleman said to me"…the world is in your oyster."
Hmmm, interesting expression. I asked him what that really meant. He said the pearl is the most valuable part in the oyster. To have the world in my oyster meant that I’ve pocessed the most valuable thing.

I think this is one of the most poetic expression I’ve heard in English.🙂
